Phil has over 25 years’ experience in the sports industry, holding senior commercial and leadership roles with global brands including Adidas, Nike and Umbro. As Managing Director of Umbro UK, he guided the business through major transitions, from VC ownership to PLC status and ultimately acquisition by Nike.

After leaving the corporate world in 2011, Phil became Managing Partner of thebestofbury, a marketing, networking and events company supporting thousands of local SMEs.

In 2013, he co-founded Made in Bury Ltd, where he now focuses on four core initiatives: the Made in Bury Business Academy, providing coaching and mentoring to new start-ups; the Made in Bury Weekly £2000 Draw, offering interest-free loans to help businesses grow; and the Made in Bury Breakfast Club, bringing ambitious business owners together.
