Made In Bury

Jacqueline strikes lucky and wins £2,000 spending money for her holiday!

This week we were delighted to present the £2,000 cheque to Jacqueline Cross from Bury Council!

Bury Council was formed in 1974 following local government re-organisation, and is now one of the ten districts in Greater Manchester. The new borough brought together the towns of Bury, Radcliffe, Prestwich, Whitefield, Ramsbottom and Tottington, and now has a population of around 185,000.

Jacqueline is a Safeguarding Development Officer at Knowsley Place and her job involves safeguarding vulnerable adults. Jacqueline has been working at Bury Council for 8 years and in her current role for 6.

We were able to surprise Jacqueline thanks to a little bit of help from Amanda, her manager. We got ourselves ready and headed over to Knowsley Place with the cheque, only to find that Jacqueline was still in a meeting, so we had no idea when she would be back.

When Amanda managed to get in touch with Jacqueline, she told her she was needed back at the office urgently – no doubt giving Jacqueline a scare! We’re sure it was worth it for the £2,000!

We were hiding in a meeting room ready to surprise an unsuspecting Jacqueline, then when Amanda arrived we were able to present her the cheque!

When asked what she would be spending the money on, Jacqueline joked and said she would be taking her ‘favourites’ in the office out for a meal! She actually plans to use it for her upcoming holiday to Menorca and ‘spend, spend, spend!’

The draw is open to all Bury residents, business owners and employees, including their friends and families. It’s a great opportunity to win £2,000 while also helping the local business community. There are only 2,400 tickets available in the Made in Bury Weekly £2,000 Draw, giving everyone great odds of winning.
