This week the lucky winner of the weekly draw is Veronica Harris from Killelea House.
There was however a bit of a twist to the surprise. We recruited the help of Lorraine who informed us Veronica was working at an exhibition in the Town Hall and wouldn’t be back in the office for the rest of the day. We were determined to surprise Veronica so we decided to head down to the Town Hall. Not knowing what Veronica looked like, a couple of lovely ladies pointed us in the right direction. We walked into the busy room and Veronica’s face lit up with delight. She ran over to us with one of her colleagues as they had decided to split the winnings. So our second winner today is Diane Manchester.
Veronica and Diane are both wellbeing managers at Killelea House and they support the manager of the day to day service for people who need intermediate care. Veronica has worked for Bury Council for 23 years and Diane 33 years.
Killelea House is an Intermediate Care Facility that provides therapy and treatment for adults following an illness or injury who need rehabilitation. These facilities provide up-to-date approaches to reablement, focusing on independence and reducing the likelihood of people being readmitted to hospital or going into a residential home.
Veronica is moving house in the next few months which the money will go towards. Diane is taking her Daughter to New York so they certainly will shop ‘til’ they drop.
It was only back in November 2019 we were last at Killela House delivering the £2,000 cheque so it goes to show how great the odds are of winning. Every Wednesday someone wins £2,000 in the Made in Bury Business Draw. Tickets are just £2 each and proceeds go towards helping new start-up businesses through the Made in Bury Business Academy and support interest-free loans.
