I was born in Bury and raised in Walshaw where my parents still live. I now live in Tottington with my husband and 8-year-old son, enjoying all the town has to offer.
I started my career as a Solicitor specialising in divorce. After having my son, I retrained as an Independent Financial Adviser. The years working as a divorce lawyer demonstrated that there is often a very clear imbalance between divorcing couples in terms of knowledge and understanding of the financial aspects of the marriage. Often one party would take responsibility for the financial decisions, and the other party would be responsible for other roles in the marriage. When separation happens the less experienced party is then faced with huge decisions that they are not equipped to make.
I am on a mission to support women who are going through divorce. To make sure that they understand everything that is being discussed and how their financial future might look. I support women to feel freedom from the challenges of the marriage as well as financial freedom to explore how they want to live their future life. A whole new life based on their dreams and aspirations.
The first concern when dealing with divorce is often “will my children and I be ok?”. A natural question when faced with uncertainty coupled with feeling out of your depth and suddenly being responsible for every decision that must be made. It is a traumatic time for many women, and it is something that should not be faced alone without the right team of experts behind you, guiding you through the challenges to face the next bright chapter in your life.
I hope to help women feel confident to know that all will be well, and their future will be bright.
