Made In Bury

Peter’s 10 hour shift ends with £2000.

This week’s winner in the Made in Bury Weekly £2000 Draw is Peter Cummings with lucky ticket number 21753. Peter purchased his ticket back in January 2020 via his place of work, Cranswick Continental Foods in Bury.

We rang Cranswick and we were put through to Charlotte Parkinson, the Senior HR Advisor, with her help she was able to let us know that Peter was working 10pm until 6am, but we could surprise him after his shift finished on Thursday morning. As you know at Made in Bury we love to surprise every winner where possible and so we were more than happy to make this happen.

Charlotte met us downstairs at reception and took us to the canteen where we surprised Peter with the £2000. He was so shocked and did a double take to see that it really was his name on the cheque, his colleagues all gave him a round applause at the great news.

Cranswick was founded in 1975, after expansion was needed the Bury site was opened in 2018. Cranswick are extremely proud of their heritage and they are now one of the UK’s leading fresh food producers. They have a wide range of food products from gourmet meats like sausages to continental foods like antipasti, cheese and olives.

Peter has worked for Cranswick for 5 years now in Warehouse and Dispatch. He had actually come into work 2 hours earlier at 8pm instead of 10pm so this was a lovely way to end a long shift. Peter and the family are off to Tenerife soon and so the winnings will go towards making the holiday extra special.

Thank you again to the team at Cranswick for making the surprise possible and for supporting the Made in Bury Weekly £2000 Draw.
