This week’s £2,000 Draw certainly delivered a surprise, especially for our winner, Shaun Pennington, with ticket number 23881, from Greenmount Remedial Massage Clinic.

When we first called Shaun with the good news, he was a little suspicious. In fact, it turns out that he had never heard of Made in Bury or the Weekly £2,000 Draw, he was half-convinced it might be a scam! But after a bit of detective work, we discovered that it was his wife, Rachel, who had bought the ticket back in November 2023, using her email and bank details, but in Shaun’s name. So, while Shaun was scratching his head, Rachel still had her fingers crossed that the ticket she bought could be this week’s winner.

The timing of the win couldn’t be better. The couple are heading off for a holiday soon, with a few days in Harrogate, followed by a relaxing break on the East Coast. Thanks to the £2,000 prize, they’ve now got some extra spending money to make it even more special.

As for what the winnings will go towards… well, according to Rachel, their three teenagers have already spent it in their heads! At the top of the wish list? A parrot (we’re not sure if Shaun’s been told about that part yet!).
