PATRON
Lyndsey is the owner of Angel Face Jewellery. She is a Body Piercer, Mentor and a Stage wear Designer. Angel Face Jewellery is a Body Piercing studio which has been based in Ramsbottom since 2012.
She first began piercing people in 1999 and continued to do this part-time alongside a corporate job. Her business was originally created in 2010 when she made handmade jewellery from guitar strings which she sold at craft fairs. The first words Lyndsey said to her daughter when she was born were “Hello, Angel Face” so the business name came from that.
When her daughter was small, she needed flexibility in her working life which a corporate job could not provide so decided to leave the corporate world, and in 2012, took the opportunity to become a full time Body Piercer with her very own studio in Ramsbottom.
She still makes jewellery to this day, but Body Piercing was her first love. As an extension of her music-themed jewellery, Lyndsey began to design clothing for music lovers and performers to wear on stage or at festivals. This part of her business is called RockStruck and she loves knowing that she creates one-of-a-kind pieces of clothing so that people can own something truly unique.
Alongside piercing services, her studio also provides mentorship opportunities to people who wish to begin their career in Body Piercing and more advanced training to established Piercers who wish to add to their skillset. As well as being CPD accredited and recommended by various insurance providers, her training services are now recognised by a government body called the UK Register of Learning Providers who formally audit her provision to ensure ongoing high standards.
Piercing is a deeply personal thing which means something different for everyone. Lyndsey is blessed with a hugely diverse range of clients and whether they have one piercing or one hundred, they can all be assured of the highest standards of hygiene, service, equipment and advice when they visit her studio. In truth, the physical act of putting a needle into someone’s skin is the smallest part of being a Body Piercer. A successful piercing is a combination of anatomical understanding, robust infection control practices, implant quality jewellery, good aftercare advice, ongoing education and the ability to reflect on my own work and learn something new from every single piercing she carries out.
Lyndsey is an Associate of the Charted Institute of Environmental Health as well as a qualified Teacher and Mentor all of which require her to show proof of her own continuing education in all aspects of the industry. People consistently describe the Angel Face studio as clean, safe and welcoming and she is proud that her business is associated with such high standards.
Outside of work, you will find her playing bass in the Rock covers band she’s been in since 2008 or bringing the heat as a Fire Performer with her troupe. Lyndsey is also the Operations Manager of an established music festival, Glaston-Bury which raises funds every year for Bury Hospice.
