There were smiles all round at Woodbank Primary School today as teacher Gemma Miller was surprised with a £2,000 cheque after becoming the latest winner of the Made in Bury Weekly £2,000 Draw.

Gemma’s winning ticket number was 25175, and she received the news during her lunch break when Phil arrived at the school to make the surprise presentation in person.

Gemma has worked at Woodbank Primary School since 2021 and currently teaches both Year 2 and Year 6 pupils. Alongside her teaching responsibilities, she is also the school’s Art Lead, helping to inspire creativity and confidence in children across the school.

Woodbank Primary School is part of the Collective Community Trust, one of the draw’s valued Accredited Supporters. The Trust now holds an impressive 42 tickets across its family of schools, helping to support the Weekly £2,000 Draw and the work Made in Bury does to assist local start-up businesses.

When asked what she plans to do with her winnings, Gemma already had the perfect answer.

As a keen camper, she plans to spend the money on additional camping equipment and gear for herself, her partner and their two boys, helping them create even more family adventures and memories together in the great outdoors.

The Weekly £2,000 Draw continues to create local winners every single week while helping to fund initiatives that support new and growing businesses across Bury, including the Business Academy, interest-free business loans and mentoring opportunities.
