AFG LAW one of Bolton’s oldest independent law firms has named Directors Catherine Woolley, Carl Fletcher and Emma Cordock as its newest company shareholders from 1 July 2019.  Following the retirement of Teresa Vickers, the three were invited to take an equity stake in the business.

The decision was taken by Managing Directors Anita Boardman and Greg French who feel that the three new shareholders have earned the right to ownership through many years of hard work, determination and commitment to AFG LAW.

AFG LAW are a full-service high-street law firm established 122 years ago in Bolton. ‘Our three new shareholders will be great leaders for our business going forward. Since becoming Directors they have all demonstrated their skills by taking on new projects and initiatives within their respective departments,” says managing director Greg French “their appointment as shareholders significantly strengthens our business.”

“The appointment of Cath, Carl and Emma as shareholders underpins our ambitious growth strategy. As a firm we have a young, dynamic board of Directors who are now all shareholders which brings that extra layer of commitment as the injection of capital is their vote of confidence in our future plans,” adds managing director Anita Boardman “This is an excellent development for the firm as a whole and for them individually.”

AFG LAW now have two offices in Bolton and one in Bury with six Directors and 55 staff. They help clients with a variety of legal needs including house sales and purchases, accident claims, wills and probate, care proceedings, criminal law, employment law, family law and more. They are LEXCEL accredited by the Law Society which means they have achieved the required standard of excellence in client care, case management and risk management - and they are required to continue to work hard to maintain their accreditation.  They are also part of the coveted Law Society’s Conveyancing Quality Scheme.
